The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) is Australia's national science agency and has a Textile Research division. CSIRO's textile research is used not only for clothes, but also for filters, antiballistics, gaskets, insulation, upholstery, carpets, bedding, bandages and wound dressings.
IFC is the only organisation in Australia that provides skills development funding specifically for the textiles and fibre industry. It has a strong focus on bridging the gap between training services currently provided and the changing needs of industry.
